Response to the videos linked above:
1. How was the process of creating the GMail account and setting up the Blog?
after reading over the process, I think it took less than a minute to set everything up. I’ve made bloggers before for other classes, though never linked with my google accounts.

2. What do you expect to learn in this course?
The set up with the modules is interesting, and thorough in explaining what will occur throughout the semester, so I expect to learn a great deal about different art mediums, discussing and making art, all the while developing my vocabulary.

3. How do you feel about taking an online course?
I’ve taken online courses before, in varying departments, and I’ve enjoyed them. The set up of this course looks to be promising for the semester.

4. What three things in the Growth Mindset (from Step 3) videos do you believe most apply to you?
These videos were difficult to watch, while I agree that growth and drive are definitely needed to succeed in life, for as much as your mind may be in the growth mindset, societal issues and pressures are much more fixed, and can be quite difficult to maneuver through. Things like this feel too sterile, and perfect situation-y for me to comfortable get behind. They minimize the troubled nuances people face in trying to succeed in life.
What counts as success is such a personal thing, if the video of the students were drawn out more, and went into details as to how they worked through their difficulties on a day to day basis, rather than snippets, that would've been nicer to see.
I get that videos like these are supposed to be inspiring, I think I'm the wrong audience for them, because they upset me. My college career has been a struggle, and messy, leaving for years and coming back, and hitting walls; be they educational, emotional, financially. These videos just feel, though I'm sure it wasn't intended, dismissive. Like, "Yeah you struggled, but just keep going!" It'd be nice to see videos that discuss the process people went through as they grieved for their failures, and what pushed them forward. That's all likely easier to see in hindsight anyhow.
What three things most apply to me?
  1. I'm a student
  2. have to balance work and school
  3. also trying to figure out money, but hope things work out in the future with a degree
