mod 4

1. Discuss what you thought about creating the Value Scale and Color Wheel.

Creating the color wheel was harder than I anticipated, due to me going a lil heavy with one color over the other. Kept feeling like my colors weren't coming out right. The value scale was also a bit difficult, primarily with me remembering to hold the pencil right, and trying to to break the tip as I go. Think I did an okay job, though.

2. Which media did you enjoy working with the best and why?

I didn't really care for either, both were outside my normal medium of choice. I have a preference to color, watercolors, so interacting with the acrylic and the depth of the colors they had was new and interesting.

3. What was the most important discovery in the creation of these studies?

Working with tone and value helped me think about how I was creating colors, especially at first with how heavy I was being in my color choices. Applying the terms of high light, low dark to my thought process as I created the wheel was new.

4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos for this project? What is your opinion of the videos?

The videos reiterated ideals I had already learned in photography, but much of that was from the perspective of lighting, objects, and filters. It was a new perspective to see it from a painters/illustrators point of view. The videos were pretty concise, and informative, I liked them. Very good reference videos for anyone looking to get into art, or curious about the perspective of color theory and value.
